what is yoga nidra?
Yoga Nidra is an ancient yogic practice translated literally as ‘yogic sleep’.
It is a deeply nourishing and restorative form of guided meditation.
Through deep rest we can regain clarity and perspective, tuning into the body’s intrinsic needs and nourishing those needs whilst in the deeper stages of consciousness.
Like a big hug for the nervous system, yoga nidra is a simple and profound tool to enable us to re-connect with our true selves and our natural cycles, so healing can take effect deep within our nervous system and we can let go of what no longer serves us.
what to expect from a typical session
Our yoga nidra sessions are a haven of comfort, relaxation and healing.
Our sessions open with some gentle breath work and nervous system calming exercises to help ground and settle the body, allowing us to turn inwards into deep rest.
Unlike other forms of yoga, yoga nidra is usually practised lying down, in comfort, whilst covered in warm blankets.
Imagine yourself getting super cosy and then drifting off into a world of relaxation, accompanied by a soft gentle voice guiding you through the meditation and the sounds and vibrations of Koshi Chimes and Crystal Alchemy Bowls, which act as a sonic gateway to deepen the experience on both a physical and energetic level.
Everyone is welcome to practice yoga nidra. It is accessible, straightforward and simple, yet deeply powerful. There is no need to have any prior experience of meditation or yoga.
We welcome everyone to let the combination of nidra and the beautiful sound of the alchemy bowls allow you to drift away into a state of inner peace and healing.
